Deep Lines & Wrinkles
Mild to deep wrinkles anywhere on the face. The deeper the line, the more Contour TRL has an advantage over lighter lasers.
Contour TRL is the deepest resurfacing laser we offer. It removes damaged skin a controlled layer at a time to soften deep lines, acne and surgical scars, and sun damage that lighter lasers cannot reach. It also asks the most of you in return — most people plan on a week to two weeks away from work.
Most people are back at work in 1 to 2 weeks. A consultation with one of our physicians is required before scheduling.

Contour TRL is tunable — your physician sets how deep it goes, so recovery depends on how much correction your skin needs.
Contour TRL is our deepest resurfacing laser. It handles the problems lighter lasers only soften — and it is the one that needs real recovery time.

The vertical lines above the lip and crepey skin around the eyes need depth to correct. This is Contour TRL’s strongest use.
Acne scars, surgical scars, and scars from injury smooth as the raised, uneven surface is removed and new skin comes in flat.
Brown spots, pigmented lesions, and actinic keratoses — the rough, scaly patches sun damage leaves behind.
General roughness and poor texture, on the face and on the body. All skin types can be treated.
Lax skin in all areas, including the upper and lower eyelids, where surgery may otherwise be the only option.
Choosing Your Laser
These three are the same idea at three different depths. The deeper you go, the more it corrects — and the more recovery it asks for.
Lightest · No real downtime
For prevention, early brown spots, and general glow. Safe in summer, safe for all skin types, and you can wear makeup the next day.
Moxi laser in Nashville →Middle · About a week
For sun damage, large pores, and texture. Five to seven days of peeling. Best scheduled fall through spring.
Halo laser in Nashville →Deepest · 1 to 2 weeks off
For deep lines, scars, and damage the other two only soften. The most correction available without surgery, and the most downtime.
Contour TRL removes the damaged outer layer of skin in precise, measured passes while heating the layer beneath it to build new collagen. Your physician controls exactly how deep it goes — which is what makes it work on problems other lasers only soften.
Most lasers have one setting. Contour TRL is tunable — your physician chooses the depth for your skin and your goals. A lighter pass means less downtime; a deeper pass means more correction. That is why it treats the widest range of problems of any laser we have.
The vertical lines above the lip and the crepey skin around the eyes are the hardest things to treat, because they need real depth. This is where Contour TRL does what Halo and Moxi cannot.
Contour TRL smooths acne scars, surgical scars, and scars from injury by removing the raised, uneven surface and letting new skin come in flat.
Brown spots, pigmented lesions, actinic keratoses (rough, scaly sun spots), and generally rough, uneven skin all respond. It can be used on the face and the body, and on all skin types.
Plan on 45 to 60 minutes. You will be numbed first — either a topical numbing cream or a local anesthetic, depending on the area and the depth. Because this is our deepest laser, a consultation with Dr. Moore or Dr. Sarosiek is required before we will schedule it.
Here is the honest version. Most people take 1 to 2 weeks off work. Swelling settles first, usually within about a week. Redness and flaking take longer — around 11 days on average, though it ranges from about 4 days to 18 depending on how deep your treatment went (Sciton clinical study). Your skin keeps improving for months afterward, with the fullest result showing up around 3 to 6 months.
Contour TRL removes skin. That is what makes it work, and it is also why it carries more risk than any other laser we offer.
Plan for real downtime. Expect swelling, redness, and peeling — not a long weekend. You will need an occlusive barrier ointment while you heal, and you must stay out of direct sun for two months and wear sunscreen daily for three. Do not pick or scratch the healing skin.
Possible complications include prolonged redness, skin that heals lighter or darker than the surrounding area, infection, cold sore flare-ups, and scarring. In Sciton’s study of treatment around the eyes, side effects were limited to swelling and redness — no scarring or permanent lightening was reported — but that was one study at one depth setting, and your result depends on your skin and your treatment plan. Your physician will go through all of this with you before you schedule.

You are numbed before we start, either with a topical numbing cream or a local anesthetic depending on the area and depth. The appointment itself takes 45 to 60 minutes.
Most patients need 1 to 3 treatments, and many see what they wanted after a single session. Improvement continues for up to six months after each treatment.
Depth. Halo resurfaces the surface and stimulates collagen underneath, with about five to seven days of peeling. Contour TRL goes deeper — it corrects lines, scars, and damage Halo only softens, and asks for one to two weeks off in return. If you are unsure which fits, that is what the consultation is for.
Anyone who cannot take real time off, or who cannot commit to staying out of the sun for two months afterward. Because this laser removes skin, sun exposure while healing is the main thing that causes problems. A consultation with Dr. Moore or Dr. Sarosiek is required before scheduling so we can go through your skin, your history, and your recovery plan.
