How It Works

How Does Moxi Laser Work?

Moxi delivers fractionated, non-ablative laser energy that creates micro-coagulation zones beneath the surface. The body repairs those zones, replacing damaged cells with fresh ones. Because the outer layer stays intact, Moxi improves tone and texture with low downtime — no matter the season or your skin type.

Risks & Considerations

Moxi is a low-risk treatment, but temporary effects are expected. Redness, mild swelling, and a gritty or sandpaper-like texture are normal for two to four days as treated skin sheds. Less commonly, patients experience prolonged redness, temporary darkening of pigment before it clears, or reactivation of cold sores — tell your provider if you have a history of them. Patients with active infections, open lesions, or recent sun exposure should postpone treatment. Strict sun protection afterward is essential, as treated skin is more vulnerable to UV and unprotected exposure can cause new pigment. Your provider will review your skin history and medications before treatment.

Moxi Laser FAQ

What patients
want to know.

Moxi delivers fractionated, non-ablative laser energy that creates micro-coagulation zones in the skin. The body repairs those zones, replacing damaged cells with fresh new ones. The result is tonal and textural improvement with low downtime.

Most patients tolerate Moxi well. Depending on the treatment level, your provider may use cooling air and recommend a numbing cream to keep you comfortable.

Results vary with your goals and level of sun damage. The day after treatment your skin may be red, and you may see small micro dots called MENDZ where the laser was applied. As the micro zones heal they darken and feel rough, then slough off between days 3 and 5 to reveal renewed skin.

Post care is simple because Moxi is non-ablative. Wear a moisturizing physical sunscreen and stay out of the sun. You may wear makeup 24 hours after your treatment.

It depends on your goals and level of damage. Most patients receive 3 to 4 corrective treatments, then continue with regular maintenance treatments through the year.

Yes. Moxi is appropriate for all skin types and can be performed year-round, including summer, as long as you follow sun-protection guidance afterward.
