Vein Treatment
What is Sclerotherapy?
Sclerotherapy is a proven medical procedure that has been used since the 1930s. It involves injecting a solution, most commonly a salt solution, directly into the varicose and spider veins. This solution causes the veins to collapse and irritates the lining of the blood vessel, and eventually they fade from view. The veins swell, stick together and the blood clots. Over time the vessels turn into scar tissue and fade.
At Cool Springs Plastic Surgery we have expert injectors with extensive training in how to treat spider veins. Results can be seen in as little as a few weeks. The procedure may also remedy the bothersome symptoms associated with the veins, including aching, burning, swelling and night cramps.
