Answers About Plastic Surgery
Am I a good candidate for a facelift?
Good candidates are in good health and bothered by sagging skin, jowls, or a loose neck that non-surgical treatments can't fully correct — typically in their 40s through 70s. We confirm candidacy at your consultation.

What's the difference between open and closed rhinoplasty?
Closed rhinoplasty makes all incisions inside the nostrils, leaving no visible external scars — best suited for minor refinements. Open rhinoplasty includes a small incision across the columella (between the nostrils), allowing the surgeon greater visibility and access for more complex changes. The columellar scar typically heals nearly invisibly. Your CSPS surgeon will recommend the approach based on your specific anatomy and the changes needed.

How long do I wear a compression garment after liposuction?
You are fitted with a compression garment immediately after surgery and should not remove or loosen it until your surgeon directs you to. The stage one garment is typically worn for 7 to 10 days, after which you may be cleared to switch to a stage two garment. We ask patients to wear some form of compression for six weeks.

Should I be done having children before a mommy makeover?
Yes — this is strongly recommended. A future pregnancy can stretch the abdominal skin and muscles and affect breast results, potentially reversing your outcome. While a later pregnancy poses no added health risk, completing your family first gives the most lasting result.
