Below is a detailed review of the experience with Ultherapy you can expect in our practice. The more knowledge you have, the more comfortable you are. Ensuring that you are comfortable and have proper understanding of the treatment being performed is one of our primary goals at Cool Springs Plastic Surgery.
A consultation is required prior to undergoing this procedure. Soon after submitting an online consult request form, you should receive an immediate email confirming your request. Within the next 24 hours, one of our patient care coordinators will reach out to you to determine what times work best for your consultation. If you prefer to call, they will take your call directly. After your consultation is scheduled, you will receive an additional call confirming your appointment a few days prior. Our patient coordinators will make sure you are coming to the correct location and would be happy to answer any pre-visit questions you may have.
Upon arrival at Cool Springs Plastic Surgery, you will proceed to the third floor (Brentwood location). The third floor is where all non-surgical options are housed and where our skin care center is located. Upon reaching the third floor, you will be promptly welcomed by a member of our First Impressions Team. You will be checked in and, if necessary, given some additional paperwork to complete. Feel free to choose between various beverages located at the coffee bar in our lobby while you complete New Patient Paperwork (if applicable). Once you have completed all necessary forms, your provider will escort you into a private exam room and ensure that you are comfortable. During your initial consultation, your provider will evaluate your skin, ask questions and assess skin laxity. They will then review your goals and make recommendations based on their evaluation. The techniques used with the Ultherapy treatment will be described in detail, and informational materials will be provided. Be sure to notify them of any medicine you are taking and if you have any allergies, active skin issues, cold sore history or illnesses. Your provider will walk you through any pre and post-treatment instructions to allow for the best results.
Treatment time can range between 30 minutes and 2.5 hours. For patient relief with any discomfort, we recommend taking OTC ibuprofen or Tylenol. We also offer ProNox (gas made of oxygen and nitrous oxide) to maximize comfort levels during the treatment. Watch how a treatment works!
Ultherapy requires no downtime. There will not be an overnight change; just a healthy revving-up on the inside for a natural, noticeable effect on the outside. You may notice a short-term “boost” but the natural process of creating new, more elastic collagen builds over time—much like the effect that exercise has on building muscle (but without the multiple workouts!). Following the non-invasive, in-office procedure, patients are free to go about their day as normal.

Now there’s a way to stand firm in the face of gravity—on your terms. However, results will unfold over the course of 2-3 months and some patients have reported continued improvement for up to 6 months, including lifting and tightening of the skin on the neck, under the chin, along the jawline, lower face and on the brow. While ultrasound does not duplicate the results of surgery, Ultherapy has proven to be an inviting alternative for those who are not yet ready for surgery.
